Legislature approves a bill that will stop the sale of human urine for the purpose of attempting to pass a drug test. This measure is already in place in South Carolina where drug testing detox products such as Instant Clean Additive and Sub Solution, a synthetic urine powder, cannot be sold in their area. Other states may follow in attempt to subvert people from trying to pass a drug test.

Not all school board’s have been successful in implementing their proposal to have students drug tested. The Seneca Valley school district nixed the idea of drug testing its students for fear of legal retaliation. “Concerns arose last night over a case pending before the state Supreme Court involving the Delaware Valley School District in Milford, Pike County, which has a random drug and alcohol testing policy including all middle and high school students involved in extracurricular activities. In November 2000, the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania held that the policy violated the state Constitution.” This school drug testing plan reportedly would cost tax payers forty thousand dollars a year to test the 1,200 students in their district.
Columbia County To Drug Test Students In After-school Activities
Columbia County school students will be subjected to mandatory drug testing if they elect to participate in after-school extracurricular activities, but any positive drug test result will not be filed on a student’s permanent record or reported to the authorities. School officials in the area expect the mandatory and random student drug testing plan to be “the norm” within five years.
The school district in the Pittsburg, Pennsylvania area will now sell oral drug test kits and alcohol drug testing (also oral) kits to parents of students who may be taking drug or consuming alcohol. Officials feel the home drug testing kits are both cost effective and less invasive solutions to drug testing at school.
